D Pharma Course Details

Course Duration

Duration 2 years (4 semesters) full-time. Some universities offer part-time M.Pharm over 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for D.Pharm admission in India:

  • 10+2 (Science stream) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC in some states)
  • Minimum age: 17 years at the time of admission
  • Admission through state-level merit or entrance process
  • Students who passed 10+2 with vocational pharmacy subject are also eligible

Examination Pattern

D.Pharm examinations are conducted on an annual basis (Part I and Part II) by the respective State Board of Technical Examinations or affiliating university as per PCI norms.

  • Theory exams held annually at the end of each year
  • Practical exams conducted separately for each subject
  • Internal assessment through tests, assignments, and viva
  • Practical training logbook submission mandatory before final exam
  • Minimum passing marks: 45% in theory and 50% in practicals separately

The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) is a two-year program in India designed to provide foundational knowledge and practical skills in pharmaceutical sciences. The curriculum is structured as follows:

First Year Subjects:

  1. Pharmaceutics
  2. Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  3. Pharmacognosy
  4. Human Anatomy and Physiology
  5. Social Pharmacy

Second Year Subjects:

  1. Pharmacology
  2. Community Pharmacy & Management
  3. Biochemistry & Clinical Pathology
  4. Pharmacotherapeutics
  5. Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy
  6. Pharmacy Law & Ethics
