DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY

D Pharma Course Details

Course Duration

2 years + practical training of 500 hours spread over a period of not less than 3 months in a Govt. Hospital/Pharmacy, which is recognized by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

A pass in any of the following exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics

  1. PUC / 10 + 2 / PDC / Intermediate / Higher Sec.
  2. exam in Science Vocational course with Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Mathematics conducted by Government of Kerala only.

Sessional Exam

There will be three periodic sessional exam in theory & practical during academic year in college for max. marks of 20 and average of best two marks will be considered for qualifying annual exam.

Board Exam

Exam will be conducted twice every year by Board of Examination Authority, Drugs Control Dept., Bangalore. The First exam in a year will be the annual exam (in May/June ) and second is the supplementary exam(Nov/Dec).

Hospital Training

After having appeared in the final exam of II year the candidate must undergo 500 hours of practical training in Govt. Hospital / Dispensary / Pharmacy recognised by PCI, New Delhi.

The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) is a two-year program in India designed to provide foundational knowledge and practical skills in pharmaceutical sciences. The curriculum is structured as follows:

First Year Subjects:

  1. Pharmaceutics
  2. Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  3. Pharmacognosy
  4. Human Anatomy and Physiology
  5. Social Pharmacy

Second Year Subjects:

  1. Pharmacology
  2. Community Pharmacy & Management
  3. Biochemistry & Clinical Pathology
  4. Pharmacotherapeutics
  5. Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy
  6. Pharmacy Law & Ethics

This structure ensures that students gain comprehensive knowledge in various aspects of pharmacy, preparing them for roles in hospitals, community pharmacies, and the broader pharmaceutical industry.
